VASTA offers an internationally recognized, intensive modular course in veterinary anaesthesia, consisting of six comprehensive modules. The goal of VASTA is to provide top-tier education in veterinary anaesthesia to veterinary professionals. Offering a structured, clinically focused curriculum, VASTA’s courses are taught by a network of internationally renowned experts. Our program equips veterinarians and technicians with the advanced skills needed to excel in anaesthesia and pain management. VASTA currently offers courses in Switzerland (in both German and French), Poland, Greece, and Romania, with plans to expand into the Asian market soon, opening new horizons for veterinary anaesthesia education.

Course

This part-time, advanced training program is designed specifically for veterinary technicians, veterinarians, and nurses, offering a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in veterinary anaesthesia. With small class sizes and a blended learning approach, which combines lectures with practical workshops, participants benefit from personalized attention and extensive hands-on experience.

    • Why VASTA ?

      VASTA training is internationally recognized as a hallmark of quality and excellence in veterinary anaesthesia education. With over 19 years of course development, we have established a trusted brand known for delivering high-quality, structured, and hands-on teaching. The VASTA course is one of the few in Europe that offers a well-rounded, practical approach with comprehensive opportunities for skill-building and professional growth.

    • How is the course structured? How much time do I need to complete the course?

      The course consists of six modules, offering a blend of theoretical and practical training organized into focused thematic blocks. In Switzerland and Greece, each module runs from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, with at least two months between modules to allow for review and assimilation of the material. In Poland and Romania, two modules are combined into a week-long session, running from Monday to Friday, with 4-5 months between sessions. Participants have up to three years to complete all six modules, providing flexibility to accommodate their schedules while mastering the content.

    • Where can I attend the course?

      VASTA currently offers courses in Switzerland (in both German and French), Poland, Greece, and Romania, with plans to expand into the Asian market soon, opening new horizons for veterinary anaesthesia education.

    • Examination and title recognition

      VASTA training is internationally recognized as a mark of quality and excellence in veterinary anaesthesia education. Upon completing all modules and assigned homework, participants are eligible to take a final examination, held annually. Successful candidates will receive certification, which is recognized by AVA, IVAPM, AVTA, GST/SVK, VSTPA, and VÖK. In Germany, recognition can be applied for individually (see details in the German language section). BVNA accreditation is currently pending. Participants also earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits: - 6 educational points per module - 36.5 educational points for all 6 modules To maintain the VAT title, participants are required to complete four days of continuing education in anaesthesia, analgesia, and intensive care every four years.

    • What materials do I need and how is my teaching process supported?

      An information package accompanies each module, and attendees can access the VASTA website for support, experience-sharing, and assistance from instructors throughout the course. Completion of assigned "homework" is mandatory to qualify for the final exams.
